DULUTH and HIBBING, MN (02-19-14) — Compudyne, the region’s leading provider of IT solutions, is revealing the winner of its $10,000 non-profit giveaway: First Witness! During a celebration Wednesday, February 19th, Compudyne presented the check to the child advocacy center. John Marinac, Compudyne President and CTO says, “First Witness provides critical services to our community and this donation will go a long way to ensuring they will be able to impact our community for years to come. We’re thankful for the hard work of the organization and all of the nominated non-profits as they meet vital needs of individuals in our region.” Compudyne was so inspired by the four organizations and all of the votes from across region that it surprised the remaining 3 non-profits with $1,500 checks.

Compudyne is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and attributes its success to the strong relationships the company has created with both businesses and community members. To thank communities for their support, Compudyne created a $10,000 non-profit giveaway contest.

Customers nominated the following organizations:

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (Hibbing, MN) – Supports soldiers and veterans both during and after deployment
First Witness (Duluth, MN) – Trains professionals to conduct non-traumatic forensic interviews for child abuse victims
Pregnancy LifeCare Center (Hibbing, MN) – Offers counseling, information and assistance during and after pregnancy
Damiano Center (Duluth, MN) – Responds to needs of low-income, unemployed and working poor in the community

During the online voting period in January, community members voted more than 4,500 times to determine the win-ner. First Witness won with 1,655 votes.
